Bridesmaid Proposal Box-10 Things to a Well-Curated Gift

You probably typed in the Google search tab bridesmaid boxes, bridesmaid gifts, or even bridesmaid proposal boxes if you are here; hopefully, you find yourself in the right place. I remember being in the same position, thinking about putting together a meaningful gift box for my girlfriends of many years. In this post, you will find ten things that can help you curate the best gift box for a bridesmaid proposal box.

1. Selecting and Assembling the box

I highly recommend thinking about a box that can also be used for other things at a later use. I scored big time at Ikea with these lovely decorative rounded boxes that serve as storage boxes for my personal gifts. The day I attended Ikea, these boxes were on sale for $5.99. They are sturdy and have a beautiful marble pattern.

2. Packaging Items

Whenever I partake in gift-giving, I typically have a few things in mind taste, smell, and presentation. For this occasion, have in mind the experience you would like to provide to your recipient. I used two things, crinkled cut paper as a filler for inside the box and scented potpourri (Design Tip: Use a seasonal scent and a color that matches your wedding color palette). If you are looking to save money on items that might be disposable later, head on over to dollar tree and pick these items up for only one dollar, as this portion of the gift box can get pricey depending on the number of bridesmaids you have.

Now, let us get to the meat and potatoes. When curating your gift boxes think about the memories you have shared with your friends to brainstorm items that can evoke positive recollections. For my personal packages, I thought of the things that symbolized moments we shared together and picked items that reflected my personality along with the things I loved doing as we hung out with one another.

3. Trinkets & Jewelry

I decided to gift my bridesmaids with an item that reminds me to do things in love every day. I know this might be a bit old school, but I love wearing heart shape necklaces and trinkets. For this item, I choose a heart necklace. I found these on sale as well and paid a great price for them. I suggest you quest around town and visit local shops that sell vintage items or even specialty jewelry that can be handmade to make the gift even that more memorable.

4. Scented Candles & Essential Oils

Next up, scented candles and essential oils. This one can be tricky, but it is very achievable. I stuck to a theme and carried it all throughout the box. I know that my wedding was during the Fall season, and staying in harmony with the season, I picked an autumnal theme. I found apple Cinnamon scented candles at Marshalls that were a great size to fit inside the box, along with a pack of eight tiny essential oil bottles with different scents. (Design tip: Find gifts that have more quantity of a particular item to spread around to all the gift boxes.) This helps save money and gives the gift box variety.

5. Journals & Jumbo Paper Clips

I will say that I got lucky on my hunt for unique items to gift my friends. On this trip to Marshalls, I found many things packed in a set of fours or eights to make the assembling process easy and affordable. You can say, “I hit the jackpot!” I found Journals, mini expresso shot mugs, Jumbo paper clips, and miniature magnets. As pictured, they were all Rae Dunn Branded, so the theme continued to build. I even found journals that had beautiful, inspiring phrases placed in front. The jumbo paper clips were just a bonus item that added to the journaling theme, along with the cute magnets.

6. Mini Espresso Shot Mug

When I spotted the cutest mini espresso shot mugs at the store, it reminded me of the many coffee dates and special occasions I had celebrated with my friends. Since my friends know how much I love coffee, I thought this would be a striking reminder of the many coffees we shared and made at my house.

7. A Momentous Picture

The last gift I wanted to add to the gift box is an actual picture of an extraordinary moment I spent with my friends. I love to receive photographs as gifts and equally gift them. I landed on these black picture frames. I thought they would make the perfect momentous picture.

8. An Extra Touch of Luxury-Velvet Ribbon

We are almost near the end here; all we have left is dressing up the box with a touch of luxury and the proposal. I personally think that whenever you include velvet as texture to anything, it immediately takes it up a notch. I wanted to dress this box up a bit to reflect a high-end feel. So, I added a velvet ribbon. I had intended to create a full ribbon but opted to make this Crisscross effect that modernized the box a bit. I wrapped two ribbon pieces in a crisscross format and hot glued the edges inside the box to get this look. I think it turned out beautifully.

9. The Proposal to My Friends

Finally, get creative with the proposal. There is a murid of ways you can do this. You can personally hand out a card accompanying the gift or verbally ask your friends as you hand out the present. If you want to make it a momentous event, you can surprise your friends by hosting a lovely girls’ night party and surprise them when they show up to the event. If you are like me and you asked your friends via post mail, you can simply add the card inside the box to make it unique. I had the liberty of designing my very own proposal bridesmaid cards on Canva to match my wedding Invitations. If you are interested in the design I created, you can personally shop my cards below. The last touch I added, which was very inexpensive, was to print on high-quality (Lustre) photo paper.

10. Mailing out the package instead of having a Party

Here are some helpful tips for mailing packages with the united states post office priority mail. I was fortunate to have my gift box fit in the largest priority flat rate postal package.
