We will embark on a journey to explore the stunning hospitality center and uncover the New Russian architectural style, the project program, design philosophies, unique features, and the cultural shifts it has brought to the local community.
The New Russian Style: Blending Heritage and Modernity
The New Russian style emerged as a response to the loss of heritage and authority in a country known for its distinctiveness. Architects recognized the need to reconnect with the national culture, as even new objects lacked a sense of belonging. Through an analytical algorithm developed by Megabudka Architecture Bureau, critical concepts were formed, comprising nineteen words defining Russian design’s essence. This marked the identification of the New Russian Style.
What is The New Russian Style?
The New Russian style represents the aspirations and desires of the emerging wealthy class in post-Soviet Russia. It is a style that celebrates luxury, grandeur and a blend of traditional and contemporary design influences. While it has been subject to admiration and criticism, the New Russian style remains integral to the country’s design landscape, reflecting the social and cultural dynamics of a particular period in Russian history.

This plan to raise the level of culture in the region kept Russian architecture from getting lost in a one-dimensional view. Creating a new style is not merely an exercise in artificiality. It is a profound exploration into the depths of cultural and value aspects rooted in national architecture and collective mentality. Developing an architectural style goes beyond the superficial manipulation of forms and structures; it requires a thoughtful reevaluation of the essence and soul of a people.
Embracing this approach, the architects tapped into the rich tapestry of cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from the intricate narratives woven within the architecture of the past. Through this conscious reinterpretation, a genuine and meaningful architectural style emerges. It resonates with a nation’s cultural aspirations and the ever-evolving spirit of human creativity and expression. Hence the quote from the Architects.
“the created architectural style is not artificial, but is based on rethinking the cultural and value aspects inherent in the national architecture and mentality.”
