Welcome back to Le Château De Pierre! We completed tiling the stand-up shower. Next up; the floors! This week we get into paint selection and preparing the wall properly for the paint application. Before we jump into that, check out the tile progress below. I love seeing the changes that are happening daily.

Wall Preparation
Moving along to the walls. If you are not familiar with the before picture get caught up here with Week One. The problem at hand was the builder grade mirrors covering most of the wall space. More often, the cheapest way to provide mirrors and storage in a bathroom is to fill the entire wall with a full-length mirror and recessed medicine cabinets. In doing this, it eliminates the ability to add character to a bathroom.
My vision for this elevation was to demolish the large mirrors. Add two rounded mirrors, two wall mounted light fixtures centered above the mirror and a towel rack between both sinks. I typically enjoy symmetry when designing. This was the perfect moment to include this concept. Upon removing the mirror to begin painting, we learned the previous contractors felt no need to add wall texture behind the mirror. So… this week’s preparation included adding wall texture behind the wall for a uniform wall finish. See below the wall texture finish I had to match.

Paint Selection
The moment we have all been waiting for… paint selection!!! There are many processes to selecting pain for your design. I typically like to choose my paint alongside my physical mood board, in different types of lighting. I prefer to see the different hues and undertones the paint provides as it lays against the different materials. I successfully chose Mindful Gray and Black Magic from Sherwin Williams. These two colors gave the design a refined modern look.
