Thanksgiving is right around the corner. This year, many of us will be home enjoying our immediate family and friends in small social settings. If you are like me, you will host the main course, and you are searching for a tablescape idea to create these special moments with your family. In this post, we will discuss five items you need to have a gorgeous Thanksgiving tablescape.

At Le Château De Pierre, we embrace non-traditional colors. The color palette this year is Ivory, Aubergine, and Cloud Blue. If you have missed my Autumn Home Vignette Challenge hosted by my friend Katherine at Katherines Corner, make sure you stop by to see what the other lovely ladies and I have created to bring the Fall spirit into our homes. Now, let’s get you those tips for your tablescape!
1. A Festive Table Runner
A perfect way to build a gorgeous tablescape for Thanksgiving is to start with a festive table runner. Table runners anchor the table and provide a foundation for items to be placed.
2. A Tray Stand
I used a cake tray stand for my table; any tray you have at home would be a great pick; even a tiered tray would suffice. Trays provide height and give you the ability to bring focus to your decorative tablescape items. This year I wanted the focus to be placed on my glass & velvet pumpkins.
3. Decorative Holiday Stems
After you placed a festive runner on the table and chosen a tray stand, add your holiday stems of choice. Stems are a great way to enhance depth to your Thanksgiving tablescape. While in search of a start point, consider placing a few layers on the table. Be sure to add one on either side to create a symmetrical look. I did that here, and it came out beautifully. Wondering where I picked these up from? Direct links from Hobby Lobby are below, so you can pick yours up too!
- Navy Magnolia Stems
- Blue Delphinium Spray
- Purple Full Rose Stem
- Purple Sunflower Stems
- Purple Flocked Spray
4. Round Beaded Table Chargers
As displayed, I love to mix-match and color swap my plates and silverware. I also prefer textured plate chargers as they add an extra layer of element to a tablescape. Some variety of choices to choose from are linked below.
- Rounded Beaded Charger Plates (Plastic)
- Round (Glass) Beaded Charger Plates
- Round Scalloped Plates (Acrylic Plastic)
5. Candlestick Holders & Candles
It’s no secret what candles can do for your memory and mood. I strongly encourage you to light a few candles to set the perfect mood. I have flanked two stainless steel holders of varying heights to complete the look. “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

Oh, Cristele, I love those pretty hexagonal tiles and the marble porcelain complements them so well. I can’t wait to see the end result – so glad I found you at Charming Homes & Gardens link party!
Jayne, we are on week 5 for the challenge and we have made great progress. The hexagonal tiles provide some great movement and variety in the design. Thanks so much for stopping by.
